What's Actually in a Memewick Candle (Full Breakdown)

Transparency is cheap when you make everything yourself, so here is the complete bill of materials for every candle we sell.

The wax: refined paraffin, 12 oz

We pour a refined paraffin blend, chosen deliberately for its scent throw and color, and we wrote a whole honest comparison with soy about that choice. Modern food-grade paraffin burned with a trimmed wick in a ventilated room is safe; burn habits matter far more than wax tribe.

The wick: single cotton, no core

One braided cotton wick per candle, no metal core, centered by hand. A single wick on a 3 inch jar gives an even melt pool without the soot a too-large flame produces. Trim it to a quarter inch before each burn; the care guide covers the rest.

The scent: seasonal, currently citrus

One fragrance per season across the whole lineup. Summer 2026 is a fresh citrus. Rotating seasonally keeps the shop simple and means your fall reorder will smell like fall.

The shimmer: real mica

Magic Gamer Dust is natural mica mineral powder, the same pigment used in cosmetics, dusted lightly on the wax surface. It is candle-safe, wick-safe, and comes in 16 colors. White is standard.

The vessel and label

A straight-sided glass jar, about 4 by 3 inches, and a full-color label we design and print in house. Glass gets hot near the end of a burn; stop when a half inch of wax remains.

What is NOT in it

No lead-core wicks (banned in the US since 2003, and we would not use them anyway), no dyes in the wax itself (color comes from the mica dust you pick), and no mystery: if you have a question about any material, email us and the person who poured your candle will answer.
