Why We Moved Candle Production In House (And What Changed)

If you bought a Memewick candle before mid-2026, it was produced by a print-on-demand partner. It was a fine product, but "fine" is where it stopped, and we didn't control any of it: not the wax, not the wick, not the timeline, not the quality check.

This year we changed that completely. Every candle in the shop is now designed, printed, poured, dusted, and packed in house, by our family, in Arizona. Our shop announcement says it plainly: my kids and I do it all.

What actually changed

Bigger candles. We went from 9 oz to 12 oz in the same footprint class, about 4 inches tall and 3 inches wide in a glass jar.

A deliberate wax switch. We now pour paraffin instead of soy. That surprises people who assume soy is automatically better, so we wrote an honest comparison in our paraffin vs soy guide. The short version: paraffin throws scent harder and carries color better, and those are the two things a scent-forward, visual candle needs most. Both waxes are safe to burn; wick quality and burn habits matter far more than wax tribe.

Magic Gamer Dust. Hand production made a 16-color mica shimmer option possible. A factory would need 16 SKUs of inventory; we just need your pick at checkout.

Real accountability. Made to order means your candle is days old when it arrives, not warehouse-aged. And if anything's wrong with it, the person reading your email is the person who poured it.

What it costs us

Honestly: time. Every candle is a physical thing one of us made that week. Orders ship in 2 to 5 business days because that's how long pouring, curing, dusting, and labeling actually takes when you do it yourself.
